Pink Carpet

It was windy yesterday, and the gusts blew lots of blossom off my neighbours tree. Much of it has migrated onto my driveway, where it lies in large pink clumps. This morning a little rain fell, cloaking the fallen petals in little droplets. It’s not on theme - blossom is hardly rough - but it has to be today’s blip.

I was delighted to see a couple of house sparrows briefly on the roof this afternoon, looking tentative. They have nested there each year, so I very much hope they stay.
