Birds & Blooms - 2

I think I will ride out this series of "birds and blooms" photo ops until the cherry trees are done blooming.  Honestly, it's just too nice to pass up.  Another beautiful day here with lots of bees in the cherry trees and birds coming and going to the feeders.  I was delighted to see a pair of Purple Finches (male seen here) visit briefly, no doubt on their way north.  The males always look as though they've been dipped in raspberry juice.

I went to one of the local farms this afternoon to pick up some fresh eggs and was happy to only pay $6 per dozen.  I honestly haven't checked the grocery store prices in a while but suspect they are more.  And they certainly are nowhere near as fresh.

I planted some dill seeds in my "insect garden" which I hope will attract swallowtail butterflies to lay their eggs.  It's a little early to be planting them but in my experience, the dill is pretty hardy.  And I can always plant more if these get zapped by a late frost.

I got a couple of things off my "to do" list this morning, including calling the radiology department of the hospital to schedule my mammogram next month.  I am coming up on 4 years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer, so there is always a little anxiety around these scans.
