Plenty of humans used as fertilizer in this wild sequel to Jay Kristoff's brilliant Empire Of The Vampire. Almost as many as there are humans used as drink dispensers. It dragged a bit when Celine took over the narration, going from Raiders Of The Lost Ark  to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, but now Gabriel is back in the saddle and we are into full-on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade mode. 

Horror, Gothic romance, adventure, fantasy, action, comedy - it's all here. Jay Kristoff is my new must-read author.
