An ordinary life....

Lola the Destroyer...

We are being people who lunch this week!

After seeing Keith briefly at Alan and Gail's yesterday, we were meeting up with him and Mairi for lunch today.

We ditched our original plans to go to a farm shop cafe near Stirling as they don't take reservations (and we didn't want to queue) and after considering a couple of other places, we ended up at the golf club.  Good decision as we had a fabulous lunch.

They have invested in a state of the art pizza oven so Keith and I sampled the pizzas.  Probably one of the best pizzas I've had.  D opted for the butter chicken and Mairi had the delicious looking caesar salad with grilled chicken.  We were all happy customers by end.

They came back to ours for coffee and some Easter treats.  Lola was very happy to see them.  Keith is very wary of dogs as a result of being bitten as a child, but he is very fond of Lola and she is so lovely with him.  They sat happily together on the sofa (in extras :-) )

They headed off just before 5pm and I spent a little while organising Easter gifts to be sent to Anna and Faith.  Also finalised lunch arrangements for tomorrow when I am meeting up with jeweller Ruth Morrison to give her some rings and necklaces of my mums that I never wear and discuss what she might do with them to turn them into something I would wear.  I am so excited about this as although I could sell the jewellery, I would much rather re-purpose it because of the sentimental value.

More consideration this evening over what to make for dinner on Easter Sunday when family are visiting.  Starters are decided.  The last time I made the smoked salmon starter (in extras) it went down a storm.  Going to make a slight variation of that as well as chicken liver pate and some tiger bread.  Still deciding on a pasta dish main course but have narrowed it down to three.  Will look at the recipes in detail tomorrow and the one that I can prep as far in advance as possible will probably be the one I will go with as don't want to have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen once family are here.  There's Orla to cuddle!  :-))

Also received a message from our friend Gail who we saw yesterday to say she and Alan are taking her mum and dad to The Cairn for lunch on Easter Sunday and could they pop in afterwards to see Orla (and the rest of the gang) so it will be all go!   The more the merrier!  :-)

Oh and pic is Lola chewing holes in her blanket.  All her blankets look like Swiss cheeses!  Look at the state of her paws.  She's like a Yeti.  Well overdue a trim.  Thankfully Carole is coming to sort her on Thursday morning.
