Gromit Unleashed
We set out at 5.30am to journey to Bristol to go Gromit spotting, well once in a while you have to do something a wee bit mad don't you?!?. We estimate we walked over 10 miles and spotted 55 Gromits (there are 80 in and around Bristol!) It was a great way to see the City and the Gromits are certainly attracting lots of visitors. There was a Hot Air Balloon festival outside Bristol so the place was buzzing with folk. Matt is keen to return and see all those we missed but we only have until 8th September before they are removed and auctioned off. The proceeds of which will benefit Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity. "Led by Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal and Aardman Animations, Gromit Unleashed is a public art exhibition in which giant sculptures of Gromit, decorated by invited artists, have been unleashed on the streets of Bristol and the surrounding area."
This is a a collage of our favourites!! Gromberry, Stats the way to do it Lad (with Ted), Golden Gromit, Canis Major (our favourite), Sir Gromit of Bristol (Ted's favourite), Isambark Kingdog Brunel, Blazing Saddles and Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion.
