Old friends

We had lunch today with Paul and Pauline, very old friends. We met half way between our homes, and it was about 1 1/4 hour journey for both of us. It was a fine day and once again we delighted in the hedgerows and the new growth. Particularly lovely were the cowslips in the verges along the Hogs Back. The only snag about the journeys was the heavy traffic. There were no actual hold ups, just so many cars and trucks.
But it was worth it to spend time with P and P who we have known since we were neighbours in Sutton back in the 1960s. It is so good to catch up with them over a good meal, and exchange news about each other’s families.
