Stalwart
(16/4/25)
Another workweek begins and today is a big day. I volunteered to help my line manager organise the petty cash for the biggest event that the team delivers - Comic Con. I said I would collect the cash, and then get it changed to the required currency/denominations.
Everything was going well and on track until lunch when G went to make us hotdogs. It went quiet and the next thing I heard was a request for help. G had cut herself with a sharp knife. Argh! I have never seen such a large cut in any home I've been in. You quickly realise how ill-prepared you are. We only have small plasters. G was happy to get the bleeding stopped and for me to do what I needed for the office, but I knew I needed to get her to a clinic and get the wound sorted, so we went back to the same place that did her minor operation last year.
The doctor wasn't too concerned but gave her nine stitches under local anaesthesia. G felt well enough to help me finish what I had committed to. My blip—the only picture I've taken today—shows her at the end of the task. She put cash into fifty-one envelopes!
We got home just before 8 PM and enjoyed a Student Biryani for dinner. G wanted some comfort food.
PS. I finally got to show G the new office!
