Polloch

This is the outfall end of Loch Doilet, drained by the very short (about 1m) River Polloch. The River Polloch in turn flows into Loch Shiel. Reaching Polloch you feel like you are a long way from the coast but the ground level at the layby is only about 10m AOD.
I was favoured by access from  the client along the private forest road down the east side of Loch Shiel from Callop (Gaelic for the shadowy place of many illicitly parked camper vans and tents). The roughness of the track combined with my desire to not break my car on the bumps saw me holding the pace of a slow cyclist. Travelling each direction seemed to take hours. I may just brave the Corran Ferry queues on my next visit.
