Ridge and Furrow (Widwed160425)

Along the road to Arlescote are several fields which look to have the remains of a ridge and furrow ploughing system.   The generally make a strong pattern in the landscape - although, never quite at the right angle to the sunlight or near somewhere suitable to stop for a blip :-)

This rolling landscape is sometimes referred to as Feldon, and you do sometimes hear of the Feldon villages. Arlescote is part way down Edge Hill towards Kineton. The combatants in the battle of Edge Hill would have passed through and possibly fought hereabouts.
