Random sights

I started the day with a shingles jab, having somehow missed the opportunity to get this in the autumn. The extra is from the medical centre waiting room, where I'm always a bit bemused by the random assortment of leaflets, posters and printed admonitions on offer. This is a  small panel stuck down on the carpet.  Probably all of us in the waiting-room spent some time staring at it, without having any idea what to do if we felt like following it up.
Fortunately the main image, a grab shot taken while waiting for Eben and Luca at school, is a bit more cheery. Sort of.
Something that did genuinely cheer me up was listening to an album by Lori Lieberman in the car on the way home from Ruth's later. What a woman! She contributed to the creation of the song Killing Me Softly but never received either credit or income for doing so. Richard and I discovered all this via a BBC programme called something like 40 Originals - recordings  of 40 famous songs and their often less-famous original versions and artists.
I thought I'd end by posting this link to her song Ticket to Leave. A song for these turbulent times in the US, even though it's from a 2013 album:
Ticket to Leave
