To heck with regulations!

And out the door with the rule of law!

We have a president and a regime that have decided they will completely flaunt the law: they don’t care about injunctions, orders, indictments: they feel above it all, and apparently they are — even vs the US Supreme Court.

According to the regime, the next item on their agenda after working to dismantle government agencies will be to shred regulations: too constraining; too “big government”; frankly, too inconvenient to industry tycoons in the pursuit of ever more profit…

As I may have mentioned elsewhere, the biggest shock to me is how easily this system of ours, with its alleged checks and balances, has completely fallen apart. It relied principally on everyone playing by the rules and complying with the established order. Who knew it would only take a handful of psychos to say “screw this, I am doing whatever the hell I want” for everyone to wring their hands and go “oh… ok then.”

I know it’s a bit simplistic: the fear tactics that are being employed contribute (fuel?) the overall paralysis and completely rattle people.

Speaking of which, the Senator from my State (Maryland), travelled to El Salvador today to demand to see or speak to Garcia, the innocent guy who was sent there ‘by mistake’. Garcia is a resident of Maryland. Predictably enough, the Senator was refused access of any kind — in person, phone, video (fueling the rumor that Garcia is dead). They used the excuse that the visit was unannounced and when the Senator asked if he could come back next week, he was told flat out no. At least some politician had enough guts to do something. Anything.
