Books - and politics ...

.... photographed on my neighbourhood walk today. The fine print on the street library bookcase proudly informs us that this was given the award for Australia's Street Library of the Year in 2019. 

We have a national election in 3 weeks time. These neighbours, whose house is attractively hidden behind a thick wall of green jungly bush, are supporting the Green Party candidate for our electorate. I've looked at the 'Vote for Me' material put out by the candidates and think that, on paper, Ms Naji is probably the best qualified. I'm not sure the Greens can win the seat, even with a good candidate. Rule out a number of far-right ratbags and we're left with Liberal (ie conservative) and Labor. The Liberals are handicapped by their past enthusiasm for many policies of a distinctly Trumpy kind. So my feeling is that Labor will probably win the seat. As for the election as a whole? Who knows!
