Here One Moment..
..and Gone the Next!
I don't have roses in my garden, so when I get a bouquet of flowers with a couple of roses in it, that's a real treat. They don't last long in the bouquet and I usually have to remove them before the rest of the blooms start to wither...Such a fleeting glory they have.
In a vain effort to preserve them, I have been pulling them out, hanging them upside down and letting them dry....and that has worked..(extra) but then what? They are so fragile, that at the slightest touch, they drop a petal or two.
I remember my grandma preserving flowers in some sort of silicone gel but that sounds like too much effort! I have looked online today and see that you can spray the dried flowers with hairspray? Who knew? Lots of gardeners I guess! But not me. SO...I will give that a try...
I spent hours and hours in my craft room today weeding through the rubber stamps and blank cards/envelopes I use for card-making. I was able to empty and free up 4 storage shelf-size boxes in which I can now store the photos I have taken from all those binders! I seem to be going in circles with this emptying photo albums project! Yikes!
I do hope that there are card-makers who frequent the Salvation Army charity shop and that those craft supplies will go to a good home. I have tons more to take there if I can keep up this weeding-out thing!
PS: I finished the book Here One Moment..it was a quick and entertaining read.
