Carrot tree

We had a very enjoyable time at Dapdune Wharf this afternoon, which is part of the National Trust estate. It was our wedding anniversary and Carol, who was my best man' wife and was making last minute tailoring adjustments to my suit shortly before I headed off to the church 49 years ago today, came over from East Sussex with her daughter and her daughter's family from near Nottingham. My best man passed away in 2019 but the bond between our families is as strong as ever. We had a boat trip on the River Wey and then tucked into toasties and ice cream at the cafe there. This photo was taken at one of the National Trust cottages by the wharf. The garden was being tended when we were there and this bunny and carrot tree was their Easter offering. It reminded me a little of the famous BBC Panorama April Fool's spoof in 1957 featuring a family in Switzerland harvesting spaghetti from a spaghetti tree. It fooled a lot of people, possibly because the voice-over for the film was provided by Richard Dimbleby, very much a serious and respected journalist.
