Tattered butterfly
Had a bit of a slower start to the day. Went over to Basingstoke to collect S's new running watch. There was lots of ceremony in the shop during the handing over process. There was the unboxing, handing the watch over, stopping for admiration, and then the eventual repacking and bagging with a huge bow. It was all quite funny.
We went on to the Vyne National Trust property for a walk. It was quite busy with lots of grandparents on childcare duties with accompanying dogs.
We stopped for coffee and scones and then did a woodland walk. The bluebells were out along with cowslips, anenomes and a few daffodils. We saw orange tips, brimstone, speckled woods and this very tatty peacock. It was surprising that it could still fly given the damage to its wings.
Got back in time for a late lunch.
Spent part of the afternoon tidying up ahead of hosting bookgroup. We then did some admin for our upcoming trip to Canada in June. We now have visa permissions and allocated seats for the flights.
Good discussion of Yellowface at the bookgroup. It was nice to catch up with everyone.
