Jan Kjellstrom Sprint Race

This weekend sees the biggest event in our orienteering calendar with over 2500 orienteers taking part in four challenging days.  Today it was the Sprint Race around the streets of inner city Sheffield.  My blip is taken at one of the two starts where runners go off at minute intervals.  All these starters you see here are on different courses depending on their gender and age.  It was quite a spectacle with the assembly area in the Peace Gardens.  I managed to sweet talk one of the town hall officials to take me upstairs at the Town Hall so that I could blip the arena from a height and Tony asked the commentary team to tell everyone to give me a wave.  That was quite a satisfying blip too.

I took 1500+ photos and I've been processing them since we arrived home on the train, still lots to do so I won't be commenting this weekend.

Tomorrow it's the Middle Distance Race in the technical pits of Tankersley.
