In the Kiln?
There's a stoneware glaze firing in the kiln today. I don't know if my clock house was found room this time or not. I'll find out tomorrow.
It's been a roller coaster of a day. Well after midnight the RAC let me know that they couldn't find anyone to come until the morning - as I expected. However, calling late at night put me first on the list for a visit today and as I was having my breakfast the call came in. Turns out the most local RAC man is a relative of a friend and near neighbour! He came to pick me up which was very helpful give that the rain was lashing down. The outcome - it seems you can flatten your battery with a 40 minute charge for your phone .... although leaving the keys turned in the ignition afterwards exacerbated the problem.
I set off and did the recommended recharge miles, on the way back calling in at Wharf station to pick up the keys for Aber Cafe which I needed for tonight's work shift. On arrival I met one of the chefs just leaving as he'd been taken ill which led me to offer to make up the numbers over lunchtime. So forty minutes later I returned having given Meg a short walk and dropped her at Jamie's. A busy couple of hours followed but just as I was about to head home I was diverted to take over at Abergynolwyn where a problem had arisen. A couple of busy hours there followed by a dash home, picking up both dogs from Jamie's as he was soon off to a gig in town. Dogs fed and watered then back to Aber cafe where the annual Good Friday 'Stations at Stations' train had just arrived as I did. A full load of hungry and thirsty folk kept us busy for a couple of hours. A final hour restocking the fridges and cleaning down cafe and kitchen and I finally got home at 845pm.
So having started the day wondering of I had a car for work tonight, I eventually went up and down the valley twice and worked five hours more than expected. Never a dull moment. Fingers crossed it's a day off tomorrow .... oh and fingers crossed for the clock.
