Crossing the Mersey

It’s an early start for another hospital appointment in Liverpool. It’s at Aintree,  a ‘new’ hospital for me, which adds to the tension for me - I tend to get stressed when I don’t know my way around a place.

I’m here to meet the colorectal consultant who will be performing my surgery. He’s very pleasant and reassuring, and is optimistic that the surgery will take place soon.

We stop off on the way back home to buy paint for our lounge. We’ve looked at various colours including terracotta, teal and gold, but keep coming back to various shades of ‘greige’. I love the range of colours offered by Farrow and Ball; I suspect it’s largely because of the names of colours - though ‘Dead Salmon’ is more than a little off putting. However, there’s no way I’m prepared to pay three times the price of the more humdrum Dulux  brand!

My blip today is an iPhone long exposure of the Mersey Gateway bridge. I love the design of this elegant bridge with its three towers supporting harp design rigging, but I’ve never managed to photograph it - something obviously best done when not actually driving across it! However, I rather like the impressionist image gained from photographing it in Live mode while G drives, and then editing to form a long exposure.
