Got Rosie all the surplus bread at the church this morning from the week. Abbey picked up from Aldi for us and we took the leftover Greggs to St John's and picked up a few bits from there. Home and coff
We went to the very beautiful quiet reflective tenebrae service last night. It is conducted in darkened and only lit by candles 5 of which are extinguished as the service goes on. You then leave in quit and darkness. .
This morning I met a lovely lady outside the Catholic Church with her daughters and asked her why people were taking baskets into the church. She explained it was a polish tradition that certain foods are in the basket and are blessed by the priest for the Easter feast. Apparently there is large polish community in ashford.
Rest of day taken up with gardening and a bit of packing for tomorrow
