Love Padlocks

On our way to the beach we cross a bridge. On this bridge are many padlocks, these padlocks are known as Love Padlocks or Love Locks and are fixed to a fence or gate by sweethearts to symbolize their love and the key is thrown away.
This was my first encounter of these Love Padlocks. Some had the lovers first names scratched into the metal.

Alfie would push them all to the next post bunching them up every time we walked across the bridge. I noticed most of the children did this.
