Only A Face

Is this only a face a father could love
or would a mother love it too? True,
the seashell eyes are unusual and,
let's face it, the whole combo does stand
out in not a good way, but who
would disown their child or shove

them out of sight because of their looks?
Unless they thought, that can't be mine,
it bears no resemblance to me at all.
Shouldn't a parent's love be unconditional?
Sure, don't worship them. Don't build a shrine.
But do love them. Forsaking them sucks.
