The Cut

A grey day with plenty of rain.  Popped into town in the afternoon to see whether I could find one or two things I'm casually looking for (the Easter sales added some incentive.........much as I loathe the idea of such public holidays being promoted as economic scavenger hunts).  Came home purchase-less but with some ideas and things to think about.

Stopped around the waterfront to take this grey pic of the Cut, which you can just see if you squint!  The Cut has an interesting history and whilst it was an impressive sight when first created, I think the engineers of the day would be amazed at the size of some of the vessels that pass through it today (it's been widened a number of times and needs to be dredged to keep it clear and safe for vessel passage).
