Hood River

Today we took a trip out to Hood River. We've never been there and didn't know what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised. Very cool town.

There was a windsurfing competition on the river so we lay on the grass and watched the action. Later we headed back into town and tried to get something to eat. The day had became incredibly hot and it was brutal walking around. We finally ended up at Full Sail and had some fish and chips and beers. Yum.

We're back home but it's still hot as hell, and we have a heat wave coming on Monday. Portland can be brutal in the summer. We'll have to escape to the coast...

Emma learnt a valuable lesson today: Check that the DVD is in it's case before we leave home. She was super upset that she couldn't see "Mermania" on the way back from Hood River...
