Easter Sunday With Family
Mish and I went to my daughter's for lunch. She had decorated her Easter Sunday table beautifully and the meal was absolutely delicious.
I took some of MrQ's instruments for the family. My granddaughter played the alto sax and and the ukulele and her boyfriend the guitar. We were touched. MrQ would have loved it.
I made a tiramisu which I have photographed on a tray cloth embroidered by my father. I had been reading about the colomba cakes that many supermarkets have been selling this year. They've been so popular that most outlets have sold out. This cake was developed in Italy in the 1940s by a baker who had great success selling panetonne at Christmas and developed a similar thing for Easter which was cooked in a dove-shaped tin. They seem to have taken off here this year and gave me the idea of decorating the top of my tiramisu with a dove of peace.
My daughter gave me some lovely chocolate blue tit eggs and her mother-in-law bought me bugs and bees. Both so wonderfully well-chosen. :) (Extras)
