Great, Cumbrae!

As I woke up in Renfrewshire today (planned!) I decided venturing cautiously into neighbouring Ayrshire to cross a small stretch of water to the Isle of Great Cumbrae was in order (unplanned). I’ve very fond memories of childhood days out there with my family, ferry from Largs, bus into the only town, renting a bike and cycling round the tiny island, stopping for a picnic at one of the wee bays. 

The island remains resolutely unspoilt, and how I imagine the 1950s to be, so a munch, sail and wander, reliving old memories.
