Now you don't
Last year I wrote that this river was 'energetic', and that we had lovely views of the water forcing its way downstream. I was a little sceptical of reports that a 6km stretch is normally dry - running instead through underground caverns - for most of the year, only appearing above ground in conditions of spate
Well, seeing is believing. The contrast between last spring and this could hardly be greater. The ground is dry, the paths are easy walking, and the riverbed contains not even a puddle. This will change a little when heavy rain hits us tomorrow, but not enough to set the river flowing, I think
I can't resist posting the extra - we bought local eggs on the roadside. Picture perfect
