Azores trip - day 8
A great friend of R's got married today. The event, what brought us to Azores, this group of islands located on the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, was relatively small - about thirty people, plus eight children/babies. Even so, it was an hectic week for the bride and groom.
Let's see... Wedding reception/party took place at their new home. Said new home finished and ready for living merely a few weeks ago. Me, R and Marta plus another couple with two little girls stayed the whole week leading to the wedding at their new house, at their insistence. Also insisted on driving us (and other wedding guests coming from continental Portugal) several times to do some sight-seeing and out for dinner. New house had some unexpected features, like a malfunctioning microwave or a window that wouldn't close.
All in all, our great hosts had a nerve-wrecking week (if I was in their shoes I would have had several meltdowns), but fortunately, in the end, everything went well with the ceremony - cooperating weather, good food & drinks, nice music and behaved children. Also, an unexpected guest, a cute little kitten that got into the church and mewoed for attention.
The bride was happy. The groom lived to tell the story. The End.
