& sew.
A very industrious morning. An early visit to the allotment to fetch a garden fork turned into a very productive and satisfying weeding session. It was glorious up there, I could have stayed all day, but duty calls, so with the compost bin rammed to the top with weeds, I left. Walked up to the town fetched the paper.
Drove down to CK. Dealt with the daily muddle, bed stripped, washing machine going while Mum was showered. Laundry pegged out while Mum had a late breakfast, second laundry load in while I walked Indie. We did'nt stop taking photos this morning as I wanted to get the washing out on the line. Plenty of birdsong accompanied us on our lap. Yellowhammer, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Wren, Blackbird, Great tit, Nuthatch, plus 3 Buzzard soaring overhead. SO was stapled to this post a few weeks back, no idea what it refers to.?.
Looked through the kitchen diner window on arrival back at Mum's. She was sat at the table, head bowed, fast asleep. Love her! :-) Gave Indie a quick rinse off, pegged the laundry out, made a coffee, set about my sewing task. Mum & I both bought new duvets at the end of last year. After not too many uses the stitching started to unravel. I had handstitched mine backalong. Today Mum's got the same treatment. The stitching on every panel was unravelling, 2 panels from both ends. Another job to to tick of the 'To Do' list. Another job could possibly be ticked off if my brother was to contact me. I messaged him 4 days ago..... He has yet to reply.
Mum, J, & I went to The Phoenix in Chudleigh for lunch. It was lovely not to cook for a change.
Dropped Mum home later, made a coffee, & got her settled watching TV before heading back home.
Did 2 loads of washing ready to peg out in the morning, remade the bed. Sat down to watch Countryfile, which tonight focused on sunny Devon. I've never been to Wembury, it's on my list of places to explore.... One of these days.
A busy but very satisfying day.
