Still Life With Milk Bottle (Mon 21st April 2025)

This morning I drove over to Milk@Mile Elm, just outside Calne, having run out of milk.

The farm shop is fully automated and run by Mile End Farm. It was my first visit as a customer and I was initially perplexed as before I could make a purchase I appeared to need a glass bottle that I didn't have, but luckily other customers arrived and showed me where to get hold of one, and soon I had a full litre, and a reusable bottle. Apparently, if needed, staff can be quickly summonsed.

There was a wide range of foodstuffs, all local, so I expect to return with my empty bottle before too long. The milk was very good and fresh.
