Life through the lens...

By ValC

A very Happy Birthday.

After yesterday’s sunshine it was a day of April showers.
Didn’t dampen my birthday though.

A very relaxing day.
Morning tea in bed and opening cards.
Then after breakfast our two granddaughters and boyfriends called with more cards and presents.
Always a delight to see them and have a good catchup.

Lunch was a cheese board provided by our son and daughter in law.
A wonder hamper from Metz.
This is a recently opened cheesemonger in Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley, Leeds. Owned by Emmanuelle Metz, originally from Paris.

The cheeses were,
Templegall, An Alpine style cheese from County Cork.
Yoredale Wensleydale, the only Wensleydale actually made by a small micro dairy in Wensley.
Darling Blue, Named after world famous heroine from the Farne Islands, Grace Darling.
Made by Diddington Dairy.
Also crackers, Keswick Ale Chutney, and garlic and rosemary marinated olives.
All presented on a olive wood board, and beautifully packaged.
We will certainly pay this shop a visit very soon.

This afternoon my sister and husband called with more flowers and a hand painted card.
( will Blip later)
The cake I made is now almost finished, and I have a house full of flowers. What a joy.

The icing on the cake, so to speak, is a win by Leeds United.
Our grandson, George, said I would bring them luck on my birthday!
A 6 - 0 win over Stoke!
Now watching Burnley play Sheffield United . Hoping for a win or draw by Burnley and Leeds are definitely promoted.
Getting very tense here!

YIPPEE! They’ve done it. Well done LEEDS.
