Fairy Glen
A much brighter morning encouraged me to set up the barbecue and cook a rather large breakfast of sausage, bacon, black pudding and beans. Just what I needed to set me up for the day.
We took a drive across the Kessock bridge to just past Fortrose to walk through the Fairy Glen. The path was rougher than I remembered and I didn’t make it to the second waterfall as it was quite steep.
Spotted a wee ‘street’ of fairy houses on the path and really liked the deck chairs.
It was quite warm when we got back to the car park so we treated ourselves to a cold drink in the pub garden.
A quick change out of my muddy trousers and we headed back to my brother’s to watch my niece’s two boys enjoy an Easter egg hunt in the garden. Jacob (5 this year) had decorated hard boiled eggs for us all so after all the chocolate was found and put away safely from the dogs, we went to the nearby field to roll the eggs. It took many tries before the eggs cracked at which point Phin and my niece’s dog Cody enjoyed a treat! Poor Jacob was inconsolable as he wanted to keep his egg for ever.
We sat in the sun for a while chatting before we got back to the caravan. In bed by 10.
