Rhododendron

This small rhododendron has been in the garden for quite a long time and this year has more flowers than I've ever seen. It has also changed in the time it's been there, going from a more uniform pale apricot-ish colour to being marked with lots of pink.
We had the other half of the family here today. Son brought his chainsaw (which also gave up for good after gradually failing) to cut up some wedge bits of wood left from the felling so he could take them for his stove.
The rest of the family came, too, and one gson was helpful in taking wood to their car. The other would have been but he broke his collar bone on Saturday and is quite sore. He did bring his new "friend" a praying mantis.
They all stayed for lunch and the fresh, homemade bread went down well, before leaving mis-afternoon. I did a couple of small jobs in the garden before going for the run with the group.
