Crochet and covid...
But not necessarily in that order.
Woke during the night and for a second couldn't think what was wrong. Then it hit me. My throat was on fire! Think intense burning and feeling like swallowing broken glass with a throat shredded by a thousand paper cuts. Absolutely agony! My left eye was streaming, my nose was running and I coughed till I gave myself a headache. I began to wonder if this might be more than a cold.
I decided to do a covid test just after 8am as I had my pelvic physio appointment at the Woman's Health Unit at PRI at midday. Apart from not feeling well enough to attend, I wanted to avoid the risk of passing it on to the physio, plus the WHU is within the maternity unit at PRI and there can be mums with newborns , so again I didn't want to risk it. Took the test and within seconds the line appeared. Great.
Messaged Ele, Gail and Nikki to let them know and because I had a coughing fit every time I tried to speak, D phoned to cancel my physio appointment. They gave him a new date in two weeks time which is great. I thought it would take longer.
Finally got out of bed at 11.30am and got showered. The steam helped my cough a little bit. D made lunch and I've basically spent the whole day sitting with my feet up and in-between sleeping, constantly blowing my nose. It's weird as only the left side of me is affected. My left eye is watering constantly, left nostril running like a burn and left side or my throat sorer than the right. Also feeling hot one minute and cold the next. Hoping when I wake up tomorrow I will be over the worst of it. Certainly don't want to have another night with that throat!
Thought I might manage some crochet at one point but with only one working eye it defeated me.
On the plus side, D has tested negative and I still have my sense of taste :-))
