Brightening up a dull day

Today has been overcast  with short spells of soft rain. I find this weather rather depressing - time for blue sky and sunshine 
These lovely yellow flowers outside my study window certainly are a bright patch. I'm not sure what they are, it's the first time this bush has had flowers. The leaves are so beautiful - see the extra for a full view of the bush.
This morning hubby and I had to go to the bank and do a couple more tasks after which he settled down with piles of [papers to sort through - many from his school days!  I am trying to say farewell to a collection of fluffy toys that we have collected over the years on our travels. Not easy!
