Still Life II

A pub table piece can easily turn into a still life. These flowers were difficult to photograph because they were so vibrantly coloured (cornea burning fuchsia), the sun was bouncing off the surface. I had no choice but to turn it black and white.

We spent the day wandering Portobello Road and Notting Hill area. This picture was taken in the Windsor Castle pub, one of the very few pubs in London still with any lovely character left in it. I think it's a Graded building so thankfully they can't destroy it (although that being said, a certain Georgian Graded National Trust pub has done just that in the past year - there's no hope anymore!). One of my other favourite pubs is just down the road, the Churchill Arms. Great atmosphere, amazing Thai food, oodles of flowers, but very popular. I recommend a mid afternoon visit.
