Bridges
The Wieden and the Weerribben are known for the villages along canals where once the houses only could be reached by means of a flat-bottomed boat. Because the area was peat-extracted, many canals were created and as a result there are countless drawbridges. Giethoorn is not the only boating village, today we passed through at least four lesser-known ones.
The Weerribben is a beautiful area to cycle through. No terps today, but small bridges.
We collected the tent we ordered on the Internet, at the outdoor shop in Steenwijk and gave our old tent to the company for recycling. It will have new life in a bag or something someday. I'm sure.
To be on the safe side, we have booked a B&B for the coming nights. It will probably rain tomorrow but on Thursday it will definitely rain a lot. So we won't be cycling on Thursday.
