Dwarfed

The building with the dome, looking small and insignificant, once dominated this part of Brisbane's river banks. Built in 1889 to serve as the Customs House, it is an elegant building still though these days is a restaurant. I always think how threatened it looks, with such tall modern buildings looming over it. There was a court case in which it was argued such buildings should not be built so close to this listed building. But, as is the way with most things, in the end, the will of the people meant little against the god of profit.
