Devil in Disguise

This morning G, H and I went over to Norfolk Alpacas to each walk an alpaca along the lanes and through the woods, then to have alpaca themed tea and cake. My main photo is of Nico, the alpaca I walked, who looks an angel, but who is a devil in disguise. He was the youngest of the three at only 2 years old. I've added a collage to extras, H walked Ruben (1st and 4th photo) and G walked Rafferty (3rd photo). They all have such distinct characters. Rafferty was the most obedient, so he was used to lead the group, but was spooked by vans, dogs, bottles and a bird flying off, got annoyed with Nico and spat at him, and about 2/3 of the way round our walk he decided he'd had enough of leading. Ruben refused to walk several times, they go down on their front leg knees when they've had enough, but he was mostly content to follow, albeit with lots of eating along the way. Nico was very naughty, kept wanting to eat absolutely everything he walked by (to fill his three stomachs), accosted Rafferty a few times, had a strop for about 15 mins where we couldn't get him to move much at all (which was infectious!), but then behaved himself for the 2nd half of the walk and even took over as lead at one point. It was really great fun and we were lucky there was no rain which had been forecast a couple of days ago. Whilst I've described their characters, I'd say they behaved themselves for most of the walk. Their coat is amazing, so deep and soft and the heat as you put your fingers in it is astonishing - they'll be shorn in late May. The tea and cake was lovely, all served with alpaca mugs, teapot, napkins, milk jug and even a cake in the shape of an alpaca. Definitely worth doing if you live in North Norfolk, it'll make you smile.
