Admiring
I had a lovely excursion to Kirkcudbright today with Joanna. I was keen to see Mary, Queen of Scots’ silver casket, which will soon be moving to Stirling. Also the Jessie M King 150 exhibition, which will be at the Galleries until 22nd June. Joanna had seen both before but was happy to have a second and more leisurely look. Here she is admiring the workmanship of the casket - as a silversmith herself, she can appreciate the skill needed to fashion such a beautiful object.
We visited the excellent cafe afterwards and then had a quick stroll down to the harbour. It was so lovely in the sunshine. No need to go on fancy holidays when we have such amazing places on our doorstep :-)

I made a new recipe for tea from the Guardian “Feast” magazine which Joanna gave me - roasted cauliflower and harissa rice pilaf. Tasty.
