Surprise gift

These lovely flowers arrived today, a belated Easter gift from an old friend.

It’s been a hectic day, preparing for our holiday in the Lake District. It’s not the packing that takes the time, it’s getting all the jobs done that I need to do before I can go away! I always have to make lots of cards so that the Atrium card stand is well stocked in my absence, and this year I have also had a letter of condolence to write to the wife of an ex-employee (and a special condolence card to make as well). If you factor in a trip to the osteopath with Smithers* this morning, and a large pile of ironing this afternoon, it’s no wonder that I’m feeling a bit weary this evening.

*He's been a star and made a batch of his world-famous scones, plus a huge dish of pasta to feed us (plus The Traveller and his girlfriend) for the next couple of days.
