Geocaching in Widnes
We had a trail of 6 traditional geocaches then a little drive to park to grab a Church Micro geocache before driving to a park to complete an adventure lab.
It was an enjoyable day although we were very confused doing the lab cache! A lab cache has 5 stages and these stages were all labelled incorrectly in the lab (eg the fountain was the bandstand and the the bandstand was the woodland walk etc.) which was not too confusing but at each stage you got a question to answer and the question had nothing to do with the stage you were looking at. This became confusing but it was even more confusing when an answer we were sure was right came back as incorrect. We tried different cases and all sorts. Another answer I knew for sure was right came back as wrong and that's when the light dawned on me that you had to muddle up all the answers as well! This is when we got really confused - it was really confusing trying to get the answers in the right places but worse than that was trying to get it straight in your head! We were not best pleased with this lab but when I got home I started to laugh about it and laughed for a good while. If I had read the full details I might have been less confused but we geocachers rarely read all the details and it struck me that the CO was probably enjoying getting us all so mixed up! Anyway, it was good exercise for the brains and certainly different from any other lab we've done.
We had a brew (flasks) sitting on a bench in the park before going home.
