This is one of the oldest continuously lived in houses in Scotland. It sits in the centre of the village and was an original pre Reformation vicarage. Between 1518 and 1556 the vicar was Master John Major who tutored John Knox.
In 1781 the building was sold into private hands. It first became a farmhouse then simply a house with a bit of land. It has had many alterations and extensions and was recently renovated. It's looking very good. I would love to be shown around.
