Cranberry Fritillary ( Boloria aquilonaris )

Well this is a new species to me. This is the male Butterfly, although found in the Lowlands, this is mainly a mountain butterfly. It prefers boggy and swampy places up to 2000m. Well that is what the guide book says. I reckon that is Tosh, as I found it on a beach walk with sand and thistles, ragwort and gorse and very dry. It seemed very happy flitting from flower to flower, as indeed did a few others of the same butterfly. The caterpillars like Cranberry, that must be why it got the name Cranberry Fritillary!
