Botanical Blip

Why is there a white ( orpossibly a pale pink ) woolly hat and a walking pole on the ground on Arnside Knott ?

It is to mark the location of an  Ophrys, probably a Fly Orchid. It is not yet far enough developed for an attractive photograph of the plant itself.
This shot has now been sent to a friend who has even greater expertise than Mrs. K. and who will be up on
the Knott later in the week.
