Selecting images for my Zine
I’ve been using In-collage to help me sort out which images I want to include in my first Zine. I’m using Shrimpzine to present it, which I’m finding is a fairly steep learning curve. I guess someone will have written instructions down somewhere on the web,
I had a set of criteria running through my head.
1. To use the strong blacks that were coming through in the shadows in February.
2. To give a sense of place.
3. To look for abstract patterns within the highlights and shadows.
I had a set of around 20 images initially and after seeing my in-collage set in one image I felt that I should separate the village road images from the Dance Lane ones because they subtly convey different landscapes.
Other events:
I went back to Tai Chi after almost a year or maybe it was a year and I can still do it.
I gardened - removing as many dandelion tops as I could and overdid it - mistake.
I’m seeing a pattern in my Parkinsons daily diary for how the medication is working out, which gives a more visual sense to the day than my earlier note taking, which I never wanted to re-read anyway. Basically this current regime is ok in the morning, but begins to run out on me late afternoon ( if not before) and is gone by evening unless I take an extra half-dose. My biggest problem is that I still haven’t got the dissolving version of the med, so have to wait an hour for it to kick in.
