Market Lilies
On the way home from yesterday's "puppy adventures" (they actually do react when the term is thrown out in the front hall before leaving in the car...), we stopped to pick up some cherries for the WTN/AJ, as well as some lilies form a road-side market outside of Wolfville.
I had picked up some lilies a few weeks ago when I purchased some fresh basil. Not wanting to use a Debit Card for $1.99 worth of basil, I added some lilies. Also not such a bad idea to bring the lady of the house some fresh cut flowers periodically... They lasted for ~ 12 days.
So yesterday I was tasked with picking out the lilies, although they really are the WT/AJ's fav. I picked some that have yet to open (it will be a surprise for all), but one stem struck me because of the sheer size of the flowers and their vibrant colour.
This is the flower from that stem that was opened when we brought them home, and seemed to get even more vibrant overnight!!
