Scarlet Lily Beetle
Thanks so much for all the condolences yesterday for my father-in-law's funeral. We're very glad to have it out of the way and now we can all move forward, however difficult that will be.
We had a good journey home, but will be back again in a couple of weeks for MIL birthday.
I always enjoy getting home after some days away at this time of year and being able to walk around the garden and greenhouse to see what has grown whilst we've been away.
Everything is greening up nicely and the garden is awash with predominantly blue flowers at the moment - forget-me-nots, bluebells and aquilegia.
Whilst watering the greenhouse, I checked on the pots behind it where my bulbs get placed after they have finished flowering. This naughty lily beetle was munching on my pot of fritillaries (sorry Sue!) - but not for long.....
Apart from this one pot of fritillaries, we don't have any more lilies in our garden, so hopefully it was just a single beetle and it didn't have time to mate or lay eggs, but I will be checking carefully later and tomorrow.
