Nice little paint job
As well as it being the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway and the 50th anniversary of the North Norfolk Railway this year, this engine on the railway is celebrating its 100th birthday. For a long time it has been running in its 'British Railways' guise with the number 53809 but to celebrate its centenary it has been repainted into the London, Midland and Scottish Railway livery it would have had when built, and given the number 13809 that it would have carried when new.
It had been out of service for a few weeks while it underwent its repaint and is now back and looking rather good. I'll probably try and get a shot of it along the line some time this summer but I'm not too unhappy with this given it was taken on my phone while I was carrying in the other hand a very large bag of soft plastic for recycling at the nearby supermarket!
