Colour in the Garden
I was ready to head out this morning to meet with someone to quote for a thorough clean of the rectory once the work is finished. I messaged her to confirm we were still due to meet and got a message back from her husband. She'd been in Glasgow all night doing a short notice trauma clean and was just home. Would I be able to postpone till Monday, if not she would still come over. Of course I postponed, I hate to think what a trauma clean involved. Cancelling meant I had two hours with no commitments, lovely.
What did I do with my freedom - I cleaned the bathrooms, right into all the corners with cotton buds, getting black marks off the window frames and cleaning the shower seals. As if that wasn't enough excitement for the day, I headed over to Costco for a couple of things and went in to Aldi and Sainsbury's on the way back. My life is full of such thrills at times!
This afternoon I continued to sort things out for the sale on Saturday and got everything bagged up. Katy came to help me get it all into the car. I also wanted to discuss with her the jigsaw puzzle which tomorrow has become. Amongst all the childcare, Colin gets back from the States in the morning, just as well really he has a slot in the jigsaw which is essential!
Today's blip is selection of some of the colour in the garden just now, lots of daffodils still around, the azaleas are in full bloom, heathers are out and I spotted my first rose rugosa. A pink one, still in bud but I'm sure it will be out tomorrow.
A Footnote to yesterday's potatoes, they were delicious and there's lots of them still in the bag ..... And three more bags after I finish this one
