Salsify
This morning I dropped off Martin at Winchester train station at the start of his journey to France. We bumped into C and C, two of our good friends, who were catching the same train to London to visit an art exhibition and then see Abba, The Voyage. I was pleased Martin had company for the start of his trip. Once in London he took the Eurostar to Paris. I was supposed to accompany him but didn't feel ready to leave my Mum, Doris, yet. However, I intend catching up with him in Spain, later.
Then I visited Doris who remains weak but contented. She is still drinking and eating pureed foods, and being looked after very well.
Back home I caught up with some overdue housework.
This is the first Salsify flower to appear in our garden, this year. The roots are edible but I've not yet got around to trying one.
